All Kapseli operating environments using Windows servers will be updated during next year. The current server version is reaching the end of its lifecycle, and its official support will end in early 2027. With this update, we ensure that Kapseli remains secure and smooth to use in the coming years.
What’s new in the update?
With the update, all Windows Server 2016 servers will be replaced with Windows Server 2025. As a result, the look and feel of Kapseli will change to align with Windows 11, making the operating environment more modern and clearer.
In addition, new tools will be introduced to support more efficient working. The latest server version also improves information security, making Kapseli even safer to use.
How will the update proceed?
Kapseli environments will be updated in phases during 2026. The work will begin in the spring and progress at a pace of approximately ten Kapseli environments per week. During the update, Kapseli can be used as normal.
The Kapseli contact persons will receive the following notifications about the changes by email:
- A notification one week before their own environment is scheduled for update.
- A confirmation message once the update has been completed.
After the update, users must check that everything works correctly and that any previous changes made to software or performance remain in place. Any error reports must be submitted within one month of the update. After this period, any reported change work or fixes will be subject to a fee.

In early 2026, we will provide further details on the following:
- Due to update-related change work, there may be a short service interruption in Kapseli environments on 3.2.2026. If you are unable to log in to Kapseli or it does not work as expected, please try again after a short while.
- An additional maintenance break in February 2026; the exact timing will be announced later.
- We will publish the update order, showing when your own Kapseli environment is scheduled for update. The timetable is indicative and subject to change.
