Valvira has transferred its authority to issue data permits to Findata

The National Supervisory and Authority for Welfare and Health Valvira has transferred its authority for the issuing of permits referred to in the Act on the Secondary Use of Health and Social Data to Findata, the Finnish Social and Health Data Permit Authority.

From now on, Findata will also process data permit and amendment applications on Valvira’s behalf, that only concern data in Valvira’s registry.

The Act on secondary use of social and health data applies to the following Valvira registers:

  • Register of health care professionals
  • Register of social care professionals
  • Register of private providers of social and healthcare services and self-employed persons
  • Solutions arising from the control and monitoring activities of social and healthcare operational units and professionals, such as decisions regarding the limitation of activities.

Valvira continues to give applicants advice on the data contents of their registers and their suitability for the planned purpose of use in accordance with the Act.

If you intend to apply for a permit for Valvira’s data, please contact Valvira directly before submitting the application. Use the extraction description form, which can be downloaded from: findata.fi/extraction-description-form (Word document, 56 KB).
