A translational approach to metabolomics-based biomarker profiles: beyond the gender gap in cardiometabolic and mental health outcomes

This project aims to detect the metabolomics profiles of common conditions such as sleep traits and disorders, chronotype, depression and suicidality, as well as of hormonal contraception use. A further aim is to examine if any metabolomics traits represent the link between such baseline conditions and later cardiometabolic, cardiovascular or psychiatric morbidity and mortality. A secondary aim is to explore if metabolomics profiles explain the gender difference in these conditions.
