BIG-HEART – Towards prevention of congenital heart diseases. Using big data to identify modifiable risk factors and novel disease phenotypes

This project aims to investigate how potientally modifiable risk factors contribute to the development of congenital heart defects. We will study the incidence of congenital heart defects over time and by subgroups, as well as how maternal health factors (drug prescriptions during pregnancy, maternal chronic conditions, and maternal infections) may be associated with risk of offsrping congenital heart defects. Results could inform the future design of prevention measures.
