Integrative Tool to Prioritize Alcohol and drug-Addiction Related Genes for Enhanced Risk Prediction

Substance addiction has strong genetic influences.  This project seeks to overcome previous limitations in genomic studies of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs to enhance our understanding and predictive utility of the set(s) of genetic variants that drive substance addiction. We propose a novel integrative tool that prioritizes genes and non-protein encoding gene loci based on empirical evidence across multiple ethnic populations and species to provide a likely gene set for substance addiction.
